Review:

I don’t know the secret handshake

Parts of this book were very interesting, too bad it wasn’t the main emphasis of the book. Let me explain, the beginning of the book deals with the founding fathers being influenced by Indian tribes. The Iroquois alliance influence on Benjamin Franklin and other founding fathers was exceptionally thought provoking. We forget, or at least I do, the strong influences of the Indians treaties, and other interactions with them to help create America as we know it. The author shows a similarity between some of the Indian ceremonies and Freemasonry. If the book was expanded, giving more details on the Native American influence, and re-titled, it would be exceptionally good. When you look at our currency, even today, there is no doubt some Masonic/secret society type influence. The book explores Masonic ties of the founding fathers. The problem with the book, is the subject matter. Secret societies, which were very popular with our founding fathers, are by their nature closed lipped. The book gives an overview of the founding fathers, secret societies, and symbolism intertwined in the founding of our young country. Like I said, I believe the subject matter made this book fall short of the mark by not going into enough depth.
